Debra graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering. Beginning her career with a large environmental engineering firm, Ms. Klein performed a wide range of environmental inspections, monitoring and sampling operations. Debra later joined a large, local design-build firm where she was a member of the Civil Engineering design group. She gained experience with layout and design of office/retail, education, and large industrial projects from conception to construction completion. Debra also has experience in soil stabilization design for residential and commercial projects using helical anchors and grout injection methods. In 2005, Ms. Klein joined Ms. Baker, and together they
established Baker Klein Engineering. Debra helped to expand BKE’s wide range of services by introducing the Marine/Civil-Structural Engineering Division. Ms. Klein's 20 years of civil and structural engineering design experience provides a clear understanding of the site layout for each project and knowledge to incorporate the best economical structural design.
Debra currently heads the Federal Construction Division. Together with the BKE Team of Construction Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents, BKE has grown the Federal Construction market to serve NAVFAC Southeast, Army Corps of Engineers, US Coast Guard and the Department of the Army throughout the states of Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Louisiana.
